Case study
The Slow Coach Approach: a coaching website built from Judy Barber's book.
Judy Barber has spent more than twenty years coaching leaders. Her book distils that into nine approaches to good-hearted leadership. The job was to give the book a home online that felt as calm and considered as the writing, then turn readers into coaching clients.

The brief
A book with a clear philosophy and no website to carry it.
The Slow Coach Approach argues that leaders create positive change surprisingly quickly by slowing down inside their conversations. It is built on nine approaches, each with a signature gesture and an ambitious affirmation, and on a single measure Judy calls IROI, or Interpersonal Return On Investment.
Judy needed a site that explained the approach to a new reader, presented the book with its endorsements, offered two coaching programmes and let a leader book a conversation without emailing first. She did not want to write the pages herself.
Reading the book first
The project began with the book, not a design tool. Reading it cover to cover produced the site's structure: a page for the approach itself, built around the nine approaches and their signature gestures, a page for the book with its endorsements, a page for the programmes and a home page that states the promise in Judy's own words.
The language on every page comes from the book. "Good-hearted leaders", "surprisingly quickly", "one unhurried conversation at a time" and the four elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water are Judy's phrases, placed where a reader meets them in the right order.
Brand identity from the cover
The cover is a confident red with a cluster of nine-point stars. The identity takes that red as its primary colour, adds a warm gold for rules and small type and sets both on a soft cream, so the site feels calm rather than loud. The stars became a motif that runs through the approach pages and the book section.
Type pairs a Cormorant Garamond display face, used for headings and the italic emphasis in the hero, with Lora for body text. Both are serifs, which keeps the site reading like a well-set book.
Six pages, written from the book
Programmes and booking on GoHighLevel
The site is built on GoHighLevel (GHL) so that the programme pages, enquiry forms, booking calendar and follow-up email live in one place. A reader who finishes the book can move from the programme page to a booked conversation without a single email exchange, and Judy can see every enquiry in one pipeline.
YouTube assets
Alongside the site, the brand was carried into Judy's YouTube presence with channel art, thumbnail templates and intro graphics in the same red, gold and cream. Talks and interviews that follow the book now look like they belong to it.
The result
A website that reads like the book, explains the approach in Judy's voice and turns readers into booked conversations. Judy approved the words before a page was built and received a recorded walkthrough at handover covering how the site works and where enquiries and bookings arrive.
Create positive change, surprisingly quickly.
